England maintained their unbeaten record in Euro 2024 qualifying with a lacklustre 2-0 win against Malta at Wembley Stadium.
The Three Lions were far from their best against the lowly opposition, and Gareth Southgate will have been far from pleased with the performance.
Goals from Phil Foden and Harry Kane secured the win, but it was a far from convincing display from England.
Here are the England player ratings from the game:
Jordan Pickford (6)
Pickford made a couple of decent saves, but he was largely untroubled by Malta.
Kyle Walker (6)
Walker was solid defensively, but he offered little going forward.
Eric Dier (6)
Dier was a reliable presence at the back, but he was caught out of position for Malta's best chance of the game.
Harry Maguire (6)
Maguire was solid in the air, but he was also caught out on the ground on a couple of occasions.
Luke Shaw (6)
Shaw was a threat going forward, but he was also caught out defensively on a couple of occasions.
Jordan Henderson (4)
Henderson was anonymous in midfield, and he must surely be dropped for England's next game.
Declan Rice (6)
Rice was the better of the two central midfielders, but he was still far from his best.
Mason Mount (6)
Mount was bright in spells, but he was also wasteful in front of goal.
Phil Foden (7)
Foden was England's best player, and he was a constant threat down the right flank.
Harry Kane (7)
Kane scored England's second goal, and he was a constant threat in the box.
Raheem Sterling (5)
Sterling was ineffective on the left flank, and he was replaced by Bukayo Saka at half-time.
Substitutes:
Bukayo Saka (6)
Saka added some spark to England's attack in the second half.
Marcus Rashford (6)
Rashford was lively in the second half, but he failed to score.
Jack Grealish (6)
Grealish added some creativity to England's midfield in the second half.
Overall, England's performance was far from convincing, and Gareth Southgate will have plenty to work on before the Euro 2024 finals.
